Founded in 2009 by David Roy, Merit Movers set out to simplify the moving experience while building a trusted name in the Prescott Valley, AZ.

2009 – Start
Merit Movers was founded in 2009 by David Roy in Prescott Valley, AZ. Starting with one truck, the company focused on local residencial moves. The goal was clear: fast, careful service with honest pricing.
2010 – Early Growth
By 2010, Merit Movers added trucks and staff. Jobs expanded to include apartment and house relocations. Efficient labor and reliable timing helped build reputation.
2013 – Office and Commercial Moves
In 2013, Merit Movers launched office and commerical services. The team moved desks, files, and equipment for small businesses. Minimal disruption became a key selling point.
2016 – Long Distance Entry
In 2016, the company began long distance service across state lines. A new license and upgraded fleet allowed regional coverage. Demand from families and students rose steadily.
2018 – Storage Facility
Merit Movers opened a secure moving and storage center in 2018. Clients could now store belongings short or long term, bundled with moving.
2020 – Pandemic Response
During COVID-19, Merit Movers kept operating under strict health rules. It introduced virtual quotes and contactless moves, especially for essential senior, student, and last minute needs.
2022 – Digital Tools
The website was rebuilt in 2022. Clients could now book online, view services, and request 1 hour moving. The upgrade reduced call volume and sped up scheduling.
2024 – Full Expansion
By 2024, Merit Movers had 40+ employees, a full-service fleet, and specialized crews for piano, pool table, and white glove moving. All services included item insurance. New offerings covered labor, spa, and jacuzzi moves.
Future Plans
Merit Movers will expand into two nearby metro areas. A mobile app is planned for 2026, offering scheduling, tracking, and payments. The company also plans to adopt low-emission trucks and reusable cheap boxes to reduce waste.
Merit Movers is not the largest in the industry but continues to grow steadily with a focus on efficient, insured, and direct service.
